Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Tents for our Scout Troop The Timberline SQ 2XT is the tent we have purchased for our Boy Scout Troop for the past 8+ years. The tents are extremely durable and easy to set up. The spreader bar on the top center and the side wall "pulls" really add to the interior tent space when used correctly. We always purchase the footprint to go with the tent. We purchase a few extra tents each year as our troop grows and/or as we lose or wear through some parts of the tent. Each tent gets used about 10 times each year and we've seen very little issue with the poles, footprints or rainfly. Our biggest issues tend to be fabric tears on the rainfly near the loops for the stakes, and issues with the main tent zippers. However, we don't see any significant recurring issue. (Some of our older tents have probably been used more than 50 times each - and most of this use is by 11-17 year old boys.) We don't use the tents a lot for backpacking - they are a little bulky and kind of heavy if you are primarily a backpacking person - but if the tents are split in two parts with a buddy, they make an acceptable backpacking tent both from a weight and volume standpoint. We took the tents to Philmont in 2015 and spent 2 straight weeks carrying them and using them in some heavy wind and rain, and they performed great. I would recommend this tent for anyone looking for a durable and easy to set up tent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tent that's easy for a kid to set up Bought this for my son to use for Scouts. He is easily able to set it up on his own and it's small and light enough for him to carry on his own. Everything is very high quality and I expect us to have this tent for a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy set up! I bought this tent for a recent short backpacking trip. I was pleasantly surprised about how easy it was to set up in the dark. I had watched a privately made video on YouTube ahead of time, but it turned out to be the wrong tent, though it was still fairly straight forward. I did have one pole left over (???), will have to figure that out before I use the tent again. It was a good size for me and my gear. I liked the side pocket on each corner and easy of use for the zippers. I feel comfortable sending my son with this tent on his next scout camp out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the best tent ever made I've been using the Timberline 2 since boys scouts 40 years ago. I purchased the this tent as a replacement for a 20 year old TL2. I've put 28 nights, in all seasons, in it over than last 24 months and it is bay far the best tent I have ever owned. The simplicity of setup and the integrated vestibule make for a very easy camp experience. The weather protection is well though our and the frame is bomb-proof. Highly recommended for 1-2 persons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just What I Was Looking For! I bought this tent to replace a Timberline that was purchased in 1978. BTW, that tent is still usable. My new tent was easy to set up, kept me warm and dry, and had much more interior room than my old tent. I love it for Boy Scout camping.
