Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike for the price when it's on sale I bought this bike 4 weeks ago for my 8 year old son. The design, features and components are similar or identical to almost all other 24" children's bikes at this price point. The build quality is really good. Brakes are easy to use and gears work well too. It does not come with a kickstand so if you want one you'll need to spend another $5.99 however that should not "steer" you away from this bike, it's good stuff. Other manufactures sell more high end bikes that weigh less but for an average 8 - 9 year old this one is good. I've even put the seat up to it's maximum high and rode it as an adult to check it out.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks and feels good, but... Have had problems with two of the same bike so far. With the first bike, the height adjustment for the handle bar eventually refused to lock in place. I was told by the service guy in the store that he's a had the tightening mechanism strip on more than one of these models. Second one, the handle bar started rotating in place. Again, it's a tightening issue. Just snugged it up 2 days ago. My son is back telling me it's worked lose again. The bike looks good and feels good. There just seem to be inherent flaws with the tightening and adjustments. Shame. Back to the store again...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rusting already I bought this bike for my son in early July 2017 at the Wilmington DE store. We took it with us on vacation later that month. There was no covered storage for the bike at the vacation house so there was no choice but to have it outside the week we were there. The bike got rained on a couple times. When we got home there was rust in the gears and several other spots on the bike. Whatever they make these bikes from, they have zero resistance to rust. Absolutely ridiculous given that it is a product meant to be used outdoors. I have applied a couple of rust removers and have made some progress in getting the rust off, but I will never again buy a Nishiki bike.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid kids bike This is for my 10 yo daughter, who preferred the color and style to the girls' version. Decent components - same as those at similar or slightly higher price points like Mongoose and Diamondback, and definitely better than the Huffys of the world. It's well put together and has a nice 21 speed gearset. We took it out for a 7.5 mile ride the day after we got it and my daughter loved it. The downside, as with most bikes at this price range, is that it's a fairly heavy steel-framed bike. I haven't weighed it, but expect it to be in the 30-32 lb range. It's average for this range, though. The pricing was very good and Dick's honored an online-only deal in the store. Good job with the safety check, although it was fairly cursory. Overall, a good bike at a good price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Boys nishiki 24 in bike We read the reviews about this bike but in spite of what we read about the handlebars we thought the price was good enough to try it. Within a few days the handlebars started to turn. No matter how much we tightened them they still twisted. We returned it after 2 weeks and exchanged it for another one to see if it was just one of the bad ones. We really want this one to work out. Our son loves it too much to return it for good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth, a bit heavy, totally worth the price This bike has a decent set of components, three piece crank set, softly sprung fork, and really rides nicely. My son is naturally non-aggressive, but loves this bike. He's conquered terrain that he couldn't before on his 20" Diamondback. He is 10yo and 90lbs. The gray/silver finish on his frame looks sweet too.. very classy and sharp. Yes, I could have spent more, gotten more too... but for $200.. this is a heckuva good bike. I do wish frames in kids bikes could lighten up some, but that just means mo' money. Great job on this one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from ok, for the price I purchased this bike 2 weeks ago, I thought my son would love it, he does. I however am not very impressed, the front tire keeps going flat, then the handlebars came loose and fell forward. I did not purchase the warranty because i live over an hour away from the store, I kind of wish I purchased it now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Bike We bought this and within the first week had it back because the handle bars loosened and we couldn't tighten anymore. Took it back and they "fixed" it. It wasn't even a couple days and it did it again. Took it back again for the same thing and the wheel was also bent. My kids is 12 years old and very small for his age. Just a very poor quality bike.
