Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all-in-one watch I did not want to renew another subscription to sky-caddy so based on reviews and what my golf buddies use, I zeroed in on Garmin products. I weighed the options of hand held vs. watch and because this watch is also a fitness / activity tracker I decided on the S60 - I just had to justify the price. I bought this watch in Nov. 2017 when I rec'd 25% off from Dicks (online & pickup in store) and I'm glad I did. I've used the golf GPS twice so far (I do live in the northeast) and it worked flawlessly. I do use it everyday as a watch / activity tracker and it works well. The app is easy to use and downloading data to my computer is a breeze.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great screen, more gps features, but less buttons and spotty shot measurement Huge fan of the outgoing S6. Upgrades for the advanced GPS features for running, cycling, etc. and the larger screen. Golf functions are more intuitive, such as yardage and hole layout together at the first screen of a hole, and I like the auto shot yardage counter as a banner on top of the regular hole yardage BUT, very disappointed in the way there's no manual way to start shot tracking if it is not automatically sensed. This is a key function for me and this watch does it poorly. A simple firmware updated is needed to manually initiate shot tracking. A bit disappointed in the cheap plastic appearance of the case, but $100 for the upgrade didn't seem a good value. Also, the leather band seems like a liability on a sport watch that will see a lot of sweat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific golf watch and more I bought this a month ago. It has everything you would expect from a golfing watch and more. I particularly like the step counter and sleep tracker features. Others may enjoys the activity monitor, but it doesn't add anything to my yoga classes. Golfing provides more features than I know how to use. At some point I will figure out how to use the Swing Tempo. The only drawback is when I try and squeeze two rounds out of one charge. It works fine on day 1, but then on day 2 requires recharging after about 16 holes. I can somewhat solve this by carrying a portable charger, but, for some reason, it will drop my scores for the round.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Golf Gizmo Graduated from the Garmin S1 to the S60. This is a great product. I use it every time I play. It has numerous activities and benefits. I especially like the shot tracker, score keeper, distance pinpointer, truswing, tempo monitor. If you use a lot of the features during your round, you may not be able to get two rounds recorded before the need for a charge. The visuals are great. You will have no problem seeing them in bright sunlight. Locating satellites takes a bit. So start up the device before you get to the first tee. I have a laser rangefinder and I find myself using it sparingly, if at all. Highly recommend, if the price is not an issue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mostly OK...A Few Quirks Been using for about 4 months. Generally works great but I have experienced issues with the device getting "stuck" and not advancing to the next holes. Usually I just manually advance it to the correct hole but at least a couple of times, that didn't work. I wish the scoring feature offered more options...fairway left/right, penalty, OB, etc. Without that, I use a different device for scoring details. Zooming in for distances to specific targets is nice, but can be kind of tight with a small device. But it's workable. Overall, very nice. Improves pace of play. Just some small things I wish were better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best GPS Watch I have Found Great watch and iPhone app interface. The on course information is clear and easily accessible. Moving to green view and/or landing areas is easy and the best I have seen. I like the score keeping functionality, but am especially impressed by the shot tracking you are able to review later. Somehow it knows when you hit shots and plots position and distances for each, making a post round review really easy. My only gripe is the phone does not pair every time with my iPhone; I need to power off the watch and power it back on with the iPhone app running to get it to pay sometimes. Otherwise it is a great tool.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ease of use compared with with prior generation I noticed when I get to my course and I push the course find button I have to repeat this process over and over again to get the correct application ( golf) to appear. Not sure why this is occurs? Also in my other Garmin I could move to overhead view and touch screen to exact spot in front of water hazard for distance. In this new S60 I am unable to calculate the distance to the hazard accurately due to finger tip touching smaller over head view doesn't allow accurate location. I like the score keeping, tracking fairways hit, number of puts, GIR.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Accurate distances An important feature for me was to be able to see how,far I hit the ball. (Worked very well on the s3) on the s 60 it is almost impossible to consistently get this measurement. Spent a lot of time talking with the Garmin help desk, said it should work but all instructions they gave (and I followed exactly) did not produce a reliable or consistent result. It’s too bad as the watch is expensive and not to be able to track how far your ball flew ( a feature that worked very well on an older cheaper model) would prevent me from recommending it
